I wrote, GrooveNotify, a script that uses Ubuntu's notification system to show current playing song from Grooveshark Desktop (hopefully the web version will be supported soon too!). I created a website for the Zeitgeist project ( ) and will start working on a site for the Docky project soon. I have made a few bug fixes for Gwibber, most of which are waiting to be merged. For now, they have mostly been trivial as I learn the system. I have been doing bug fixes for Launchpad that have landed in devel.

I am involved with the Ubuntu Learning team and will be presenting a talk on Restricted Drivers for Ubuntu User Days on January 23, 2010. I also try to participate in social events set up by the LoCo when I can. I have been participating in the new Ubuntu Hours in Orlando that were started by Chris Johnston. I attended the Florida Ubuntu LoCo Birthday Bash and Karmic Release Party 2009. I attended the Orlando Karmic Release Party. I attended the Orlando Meetup on September 26, 2009. I attended the Packaging Jam on August 8th, 2009. I am active in the Florida LoCo IRC Channel, and attend many of the events hosted by the LoCo. The goal would be to make information about empirical research in management accessible to the non-expert, including students, and the focus of the reviews would have to be on the phenomena of business and management, not the development of the academic literature.I have been a member of the Ubuntu Florida LoCo Team for about 10 months now. The first are accessible surveys and reviews of contemporary knowledge about management and business issues. Going forward, Perspectives will concentrate on two types of articles aimed at this thought leader audience. Serving both these goals more effectively requires a change in strategy and direction for the journal.

'Ubuntu' is rich with consideration for compassion and communality. South Africa offers a unique opportunity for understanding the African concept of 'ubuntu' or humaneness. By acknowledging the importance of emotions, world management discourse can evolve more holistic, inclusive, and emancipatory theories. Along with rationality, we are guided by emotions such as anxiety, hope, disappointment, fear, anger, excitement, pity, and remorse. In contrast, recent scholarship has revealed the gender and racio-ethnic biases of these theories, and shown them to be invalid models of human nature. These writings depict homo sapiens as an individualistic, utility-maximizing, transaction-oriented species. Much of management theory is based on the writings of early 20th-century Western scholars whose disciplinary orientations were heavily grounded in economics and classical sociology.
